Clinical significance: In case of hypertriglyceridemia (VLDL is extremely high), type B LDL increases. Compared with type A LDL, type B LDL has more ApoB and less cholesterol (chol). Therefore, although LDL-C is not high, serum ApoB increases. Therefore, the simultaneous determination of ApoB and LDL-C is conducive to clinical judgment.
